Summary and Background Information:

February 1, 2021 Update:

This resolution was continued from the January 4, 2021 City Council meeting to allow for a presentation with outside partners to take place. Representatives from Colorado Legal Services and the Adams County Commissioners.

 

January 4, 2021 Communication:

Commerce City joined other cities and Adams County two years ago to set up this program with a goal of helping to prevent homelessness.  The attached intergovernmental agreement (IGA) extends the program for two additional years.  The money for the City’s share of the program is budgeted.

 

Colorado Legal Services (CLS) has provided representation for 363 households with 955 residents, including 450 children.  The program has been successful and staff recommends continued participation.

 

Attached are the resolution and proposed IGA, as well as the presentation and narrative report from CLS regarding the CLS Eviction Pilot Project.
