Summary and Background Information:
Annually, the City advertises for and awards a contract for slurry seal in City rights-of-ways. The work to be performed under this contract includes removal of pavement markings, asphalt repair, cleaning of designated streets, application of slurry seal, installation of pavement striping and markings, and related work, at locations to be provided by the Commerce City Public Works Department. The Contractor shall supply all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the work in accordance with these specifications.
A Request for Bids (RFB) was posted on the City’s website and the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System on July 10, 2019. Two bids were received on July 18, 2019. A-1 Chipseal Company was the low bidder for the project. This firm has performed work of this type for new developments in Commerce City previously.
The total of this contract is $532,199.68. This includes the following streets:
Along the north, northeast and east side of the Fronterra Village neighborhood;
E. 100th Avenue from Chambers Road to Laredo Drive
Laredo Drive from E. 100th Avenue to Laredo Street
Laredo Street from Laredo Drive to E. 96th Avenue
In streets in the Villages at Buffalo Run West;
E. 116th Drive from Elkhart Street to Fairplay Street
