Summary and Background Information:
In 2023, the City Council authorized two tranches of $250,000 each for rental assistance to prevent Commerce City residents from falling into homelessness. Commerce City Housing Authority distributed the funds. The audit is to include, but is not limited to: list and samples of all outreach soliciting applicants; # of subsidies provided in south and north Commerce City (South of 96th and north to be 96th and north); # of individuals; # of families; # of licensed businesses; # of recipients in CCHA-approved housing; # of recipients who received more than $9,999; detailed breakdown of the recipients’ requests who received more than $9,999. The audit is to be conducted by either C3 finance department or a third party auditor.
