Title
DC Advocacy Trip Meeting Talking Points
Body
Summary and Background Information:
On March 6 and 7, members of Council will hold several meetings with federal legislators and executive agencies while in Washington, DC for the annual NLC conference. These meetings are opportunities for Council to build relationships with our federal partners, share updates, bring matters important to the city to their attention, lobby on behalf of city grant applications, and more. Because only some of Council will be attending these meetings, but they will be representing the body as a whole, approval of these talking points requires the formal approval of Council. Members of Council present at these meetings will limit the topics under discussion to the items listed in the attached memo, and will represent the positions as outlined. This document was reviewed by the legislative subcommittee at the 2/26 meeting, which recommended it for approval by Council as a whole.
