Title
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF A SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR MECHANICAL ROOF TOP UNIT REPLACEMENTS FOR CIVIC CENTER AND EAGLE POINTE RECREATION CENTER
Body
Summary & Background
In 2021, the City of Commerce City contracted with a professional facilities management consultant to conduct comprehensive facility condition assessments of all facilities. The assessments resulted in facility component replacement recommendations, per the equipment’s expected life cycle and condition. The City used these recommendations to create a Capital Improvement Plan and fund the improvements.
The City currently has 4 heating and air conditioning (HVAC) rooftop units that are near end-of-life and in poor working condition including:
• 2 units at the Civic Center building, which services the Police Department space.
• 2 units at the Eagle Pointe Recreation Center, which services the gym area.
Through a public bidding, the City has selected Design Mechanical, Inc. to perform the replacements of the 4 HVAC rooftop units. Design Mechanical, Inc. has the lowest costs, out of 3 respondents, with the most complete scope.
