Summary and Background Information:
Beginning with the 2016-2017 program year, the city became a direct recipient of funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
The City was originally awarded $422,451 in 2022 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding. Recently, this amount was increased by $17,834 for a total 2022 funding amount of $440,375. Additionally, the City was recently awarded 2023 CDBG funding in the amount of $383,627. The additional 2022 funding amount of $17,834 plus the 2023 funding amount of $383,627 total $401,461. This ordinance seeks to amend the City's 2024 budget by appropriating these funds for use on public services, public works, economic development, housing rehabilitation, and/or administration costs.
