Summary and Background Information:
Commerce City has been recognized as a "Tree City USA" by the National Arbor Day Foundation for the 33rd consecutive year. This is a testament to the city's promotion, interest of planting and caring for trees in city-owned properties.
To celebrate and promote Arbor Day this year, on April 19th, the Parks, Recreation and Golf department will have flower seedlings and eight trees that will be given away to the community via drawings that will be held at both the Eagle Pointe and Bison Ridge Recreation Centers. Additionally, Carrie Tomlinson, Urban Forestry Manager, from the Colorado State Forest Service will also attend the City Council meeting on April 15, 2024 to present the Tree City USA Award to the Mayor and City Council.
