November Meeting Minutes  
Iona moved to approve November's meeting minutes. The motion was seconded by  
Deana Hall, which was approved unanimously.

America Carbajal joined the meeting.  
Staff Liaison Melissa Sumner updated commission on DEI needs assessment that  
was presented to City Council on Monday, Dec 9th.  
Key Findings:  
- Disparity between the northern areas of Commerce City  
- Went through what the City Council expects from the commission and the support  
needed from Council and the City.  
There was a request for copy of bylaws and DEI Needs Assessment report.  
a. January Meeting & Agenda Setting  
Additional items to discuss next month: bylaws (especially in regards to attendance)  
and conversation about in-person vs virtual meetings.  
b. Q1 Calendar of Events  
January - National blood donor month (blood donor set up in the City?)  
February - Black history month (possible film night related to black history month?)  
March - Women and girls HIV/AIDS awareness month  
Suggestion to help with resources and getting the word out if we are unable to plan or  
attend an event.  
c. Subcommittee Goal & Calendar Planning  
January - subcommittees to come to the meeting with a one sentence goal.  
Committee members broke out into subcommittees to discuss goals shortly before  
7pm.
