Call To Order/Roll Call - 2pm

A regular meeting of the Senior Commission was called to order by Chair McGowan on  
October 9, 2025, at 2:10 PM.  
Ex-Officio member Tina Ledesma was also present, as well as the city's Senior  
Navigator, Lizbeth Gomez Estrada.

Approval of Minutes

Commissioner Brooks made a motion to approve the minutes of the September  
meeting. Commissioner Boyd seconded the motion.

Lunch & Learn and Fall Fest Debrief  
Lunch and Learn was successful.  
Fall Fest was successful as well. Group mentioned purchasing more swag and our own  
wheel.

The board discussed decor ideas. The group will get there at 3pm to set up and will  
wear normal clothes with a name tag.  
The board asked staff to check on registration and requirements for hanging decor.  
The board discussed the possibility of having a signature mocktail since the event is  
$250 under budget. Mary Kay will check in with Rob at Bison Grill.  
2026 Goals  
The group discussed their goals for 2026.  
A motion was made by Member Boyd, seconded by Member Zubiate, to  
approve the 2026 goals as drafted in the meeting.

Senior Commission 2025 Accomplishments & Goals  
Specific event calendar and Lunch & Learn topics to be discussed at the next  
meeting. Suggestions for speakers included Benefits in Action, AARP, PD, Civic  
engagement, and Colorado Gerontology.  
Mayor Pro Tem Noble noted the America 250/Colorado 150 celebrations around the  
state.  
A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Noble, seconded by Council member  
Douglas, for Antonia Dell to speak on behalf of the Senior Commission during  
public comment at the 11/17 meeting on the topic of data collected by Parks,  
Recreation, and Golf.

Bylaws Discussion

The quorum requirement for a council member to be present will go to City Council for  
the second reading in November. It will likely be in effect for our November meeting.  
The quorum will then be to have five voting members present, which we can update to  
simply having a majority once this change is complete.  
New Business

Myrna Ferguson, Carol Boyd, Carli Plummer, and Gabby Adeshewo's terms have  
expired.  
The board discussed changing their meeting time, but will discuss more at the next  
meeting.  
Lizbeth with Community Well-Being provided an update on upcoming projects and  
challenges they are facing.
