A regular meeting of the Citizens Public Safety Advisory Board was called to order by  
Chair Bierwiler on May 22, 2025, at 4:02 PM.

Crime Prevention Unit Updates  
- Officer Rosales shared updates regarding the Crime Prevention Unit's (CPU)  
community engagement initiatives regarding Neighborhood Watch Groups. He also  
shared their plan on partnering with the Youth Services Unit (YSU) on different youth  
programs and events that go on throughout the summer.  
Department/ Chief Updates

Chief Guadnola updated the board on the following topics:  
- The Real-Time Crime Center (RTCC) is on schedule for going live by September 1st.  
- Temporary substation located at E 104th Avenue and Hwy 2 is on schedule to be  
completed by September 1st.  
- The two K9's are continuing to develop and are thriving. Based on how well they are  
doing with training, they are anticipated to be fully trained and ready for deployment  
ahead of schedule.  
- CALEA pre mock assessment was rescheduled to June 9th.  
- The City is currently in negotiations with the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) regarding  
terms for their next agreement  
- Upcoming CIty project, Buckley Park  
Deputy Chief Sadar gave an update regarding the missing juvenile that was located  
and safe. He also used this incident an as example of how the drone program will  
benefit the police department during similar events.  
Police Week BBQ

- Chief Guadnola thanked the board for their contribution to the 2025 Police Week  
BBQ. A handwritten Thank You card was presented to the board and shared via email.

Neighborhood Watch Group Updates  
- Executive Administrative Supervisor Jodell shared the name and phone number of a  
resident that is interested in learning more about the Neighborhood Watch Groups with  
Officer Rosales.

- Drones

A robust discussion ensued regarding the topics above.  
Community Events Attended by Board members

- Vice Chair Perkins planned on attending the Memorial Day parade to represent the  
CPSAB. Member Hefty will be attending the parade on behalf of the Veterans  
committee.  
Expenditures and Encumbrances to Date  
YTD the board has used $1,528.21 of their budget. The funds have been put towards  
the following events:  
- Ralston House Pinwheel Garden  
- Police Week events  
- Supplies for the second annual Cops for Inclusion event
