The co-chairs attended the April 15th Council meeting and shared the presentation
for the committee’s work over the previous year. Council members inquired on any
issues being faced and the chairs shared their appreciation for the additional training
that was provided by the City Clerk’s office for their roles as well as the challenges
faced in recruiting additional new members from the core city area. Council Member
Dukes suggested a possible collaboration with the Boys and Girls Club.

Brochure Update Review/Feedback Presentation - Tim Duda

Recreation Manager Duda discussed the evolution of the recreation brochure formats
over the years since its inception. He reviewed the preparation, timeline, layout,
issues faced, and incurred costs. It is now in a transitional rework and members were
asked for their thoughts which included using QR codes, tying it into the City’s app,
postcards or other way to opt out, partnering with area homebuilders. All efforts will
be purposeful and slow to assist in the adoption of any changes made.
4th Annual Curt Holland Memorial Golf Tournament Details - Tim
Duda
If anyone is interested in signing up for this extremely popular event, it is being held
on August 23rd at Buffalo Run Golf Course. Registration opens on the City site
for $500. The silent auction will open August 16th and closes the day of the event.

September Park Tour - Chad Redin
Director Redin requested input from members for choosing a date or possibly doing a
virtual review at a future committee meeting. Members noted they would like to select
a Saturday in September; keeping the focus on new and renovated areas not visited
in recent years in addition to sharing the guide for people to learn more about all of
the options available and explore on their own, if desired.

Member Welander played Disc Golf with some of the Park Rangers. Member
McDowell noted the meeting for the 120th Avenue Corridor Project on April 25th at
Prairie View Middle School. The April 6th Adult Prom event was unfortunately
cancelled due to low enrollment.
Council Member Reports & Information
Council Member Teter reminded all of the Earth Day activities at the refuge. Council
Member Dukes shared his efforts to highlight residents that go above and beyond in
the community in his Council reports. If anyone has someone in mind, please pass
along the information to him.

Members directed staff to review and report on tree board development options at the
May 21st meeting. Member Zimmermann inquired on the outline of the minutes, the
amount of detail included, what is specified in the committee’s bylaws. Staff will follow
