Reports
Department leadership provided updates on recent public safety initiatives, major case activity, and community
engagement efforts. Recent crime trends and significant investigations, including a shooting incident, were
discussed, while the successful Memorial Day Parade and National Police Week events highlighted the
department's ongoing community presence.
Operational achievements included the certification of two new K9 drug detection teams, the successful completion
of the FTO program by four recruits, and recognition of the RTCC and Chaplain group for their valuable
contributions to investigations, officer wellness, resilience training, and support services.
Community outreach efforts continue to have a positive impact. The Cops for Inclusion event served 53 families
with assistance from volunteers form the Arc of Adams County, and $1,170 raised through the Benevolent Badge
Program was donated to support the organization. The Badge & Honors Ceremony was also reported as a
successful event.
Leadership provided updates on future planning and funding opportunities, including potential federal support for the
RTCC program and continued progress on the department's new facility project, which remains on schedule. Staff
also discussed the upcoming Trespass Initiative in partnership with local businesses and provided an update on
e-bike related concerns.
Additional city updates included a Fire Mitigation Project at Sand Creek, where approximately $300,000 in Natural
Disaster Mitigation grant funding was used to remove hazardous dead trees. The city is also pursuing new
emergency management software to improve mobility and operational efficiency while continuing to strengthen
auxiliary communication capabilities.
