Update on Park Policies City Council Discussion - Kathy LeVeque
Deputy Director LeVeque shared updates from the May 12, 2025 Council meeting
regarding prohibiting shopping carts in parks, rights-of-way and all city properties; park
curfew; and increasing park security patrols.

Community Relations Manager Huntington provided information on the update to the
City’s website that are underway. He requested member feedback as well as
assistance in getting the word out to community members.

Council Member Teter shared kudos for Member Grandinetti’s Earth Day efforts and
invited everyone to engage with the upcoming Memorial Day Parade as well as the
event immediately following it.
Council Member Dukes updated members on the efforts to: streamline the
proclamation process to maximize their available working time and efficiency;
implement neighborhood economic tours, modernize economic incentive packages
and policies, and remove the metro district moratorium.
