A regular meeting of the Cultural Council was called to order by Chair Martin on August  
19, 2025, at 6:08 PM.  
A motion was made by Chair Martin, seconded by Membe Sanchez, to excuse those

Grants & Finance Monthly Update

The board is waiting to receive an update on the SCFD grant application.  
The board is projecting that they will be $10k short for next year's budget due to  
running out of rollover Covid funds. The board will pursue additional grants and  
requesting additional funds from the city for Music in the Park. Grants will be managed  
by the city moving forward.

Board encouraged to think ahead to 2027 projects to discuss during retreat.

Board debriefed the Music in the Park series, and brainstormed other ways to engage  
their audience.  
b. Public Art & Art Exhibitions  
i. Install Updates & Celebrations  
Projected installs:  
CALU Park: late October through November depending on weather  
Cocklebur: late September/early October  
Eagle Pointe: September  
Wood carving: unknown  
Celebrations to be planned in subcommittees in collaboration with the city.  
ii. Master Plan Updates  
Subcommittee is working on revising the public art master plan, and will continue to  
share with the full board in the months ahead.  
c. Community Engagement & Partnerships  
i. Hispanic Heritage - Council participation  
Board expressed excitement for the booked entertainment. Board requested to also  
sponsor the pinata activity at the event with the funds already provided.  
Cultural Council discussed their tabling items at the event.  
ii. Car Show at Fall Fest - Council participation  
Board shared that Adams City homecoming is on the same day as Fall Fest.  
A motion was made by Board Member Ronna Sanchez, seconded by Board  
Member Jade Humphries-Graves, to cancel the car show at Fall Fest due to the  
conflict with Adams City homecoming. VOTE:

Staff shared information about the Youth Town Hall on October 18. Members  
expressed an interest in participating.  
Board discussed Cultural Council and city financial accounts as it pertains to Ronna's  
departure in 2026.

Board tentatively set the retreat date as October 25 from 9am-1pm pending Tyler,  
Carlos, and Emily's availability.  
A motion was made by Board Member Ronna Sanchez, seconded by Board  
Member Jade Humphries-Graves, to cancel the regular October meeting.
