A regular meeting of the DEI Commission was called to order by Chair LongSolider on  
October 29, 2025, at 5:32 PM.  
A motion was made by Chair LongSolder, seconded by Member Chard, to excuse  
Council member Kim and Member Gonzalez-De La Rosa from the meeting. VOTE: 6-  
Aye, 2-Excused (Council member Kim & Member Gonzalez-De La Rosa), 4-Absent  
(Council member Chacon, Members Vega, Carbajal, and Hall).

Min 25-226 September Meeting Minutes  
Chair LongSoldier made a motion to approve the minutes of the September  
meeting. Commissioner Gilliam seconded the motion.

i. Council Report  
No Council members were present to provide report.  
ii. Upcoming Legislation & Proclamations  
Board discussed assistance for SNAP recipients on upcoming City Council agenda, as  
well as efforts from the county's Rapid Response group.  
B. Signature Events  
i. November Events  
Board discussed food to provide at upcoming movie event. A handful of members  
stated that they are planning to attend the movie event, but no members were able to  
attend the Veterans Day flag raising.  
ii. CALU Park Opening  
Chair LongSoldier and staff provided an update on the park's interpretive signs,  
artwork, and opening.  
C. Recruitment, Engagement & Partnerships  
i. Community Well-Being Overview  
Community Well-Being Overview  
Board expressed interest in knowing what issues Community Well-Being are hearing  
from the community, so DEI Commission can prioritize elevating those voices and  
concerns to City Council.

2025 DEI Commission Goals  
2025 goals and accomplishments were shared. Discussion was moved to retreat.  
Retreat Agenda Setting  
Board had robust conversation to plan and structure retreat. Members were  
encouraged to wear DEI Commission shirts for the group photo.  
Other Business

The 2025 budget was reviewed. Group will decide what to purchase with remaining  
balance at retreat.  
Member Curry moved to amend the $400 swag budget to be used for  
community support items. Member Stranahan seconded the motion.
