Summary and Background Information:
Boards and commission are a significant source of public input and direction for any local government. However, with the different statutory laws and procedures established by state law and a city charter it can be difficult and confusing to know the parameters a board or commission has to work within. This presentation was developed to assist a new board or commission with understanding the basic statutory requirements that govern all public bodies and provide tips for the first meeting and future success.
