AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2021 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO BY THE RECOGNITION OF THE ADAMS COUNTY OPEN SPACE GRANT FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $92,500 FOR THE TURNBERRY PARK SKATE SPOT PROJECT AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF.

Summary and Background Information:
Turnberry Park is 9.5 acres in size and was completed in 2016 as a part of the city’s 2K ballot initiative. The park includes a playground with elements for both 2-5 and 5-12 year olds, a large shelter, a multi-use sports court, two open grassy multi-purpose fields, a perimeter path, and a restroom. Per community input and direction from City Council, a 4,500 square foot skate “spot” has been designed and is being proposed as an additional park amenity.
The City Manager is authorized and directed to sign, and the City Clerk to attest, an intergovernmental agreement with Adams County to implement the grant.
