Energy Service Area Consolidation Letter

Body

Summary and Background Information

Mr. Dave Hammer owns a 40-acre parcel of land located at the southwest corner of 104th Avenue and Highway 85. Although none of this land is located within the City of Commerce City, annexation negotiations and a large-scale plan for commercial development are well underway. As a part of the annexation process, Mr. Hammer will need to underground United Power electric power lines along 104th Avenue as well as an Xcel Energy overhead line on the east side of Brighton Road. In addition, Mr. Hammer’s property does cross over into the service area for both United Power and Xcel Energy. In order to foster easier development of the 40-acre parcel, Hammer and the City staff would like to request that the entirety of this site be consolidated into one service area.

The letter included in this packet is intended to be sent to both service providers.
