Title

RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COMMERCE CITY LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY RULES OF PROCEDURE TO ESTABLISH POLICIES FOR THE CONDUCT OF PUBLIC HEARINGS BY ELECTRONIC MEANS

Body

Summary and Background Information

Pursuant to section 8-1200(b) of the Commerce City Revised Municipal Code, the City Council must approve amendments to the Rules of Procedure. Due to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Authority has recommended that the Rules of Procedure be amended to provide that hearings required to be open to the public under state and local liquor laws be held through electronic means. The city currently conducts remote public hearings via Zoom Webinar for City Council, Planning Commission, and the Zoning Board of Adjustment meetings. This resolution would provide the Liquor License Authority with the ability to hold their public hearings remotely and provide for policies on how those public hearings would be conducted, which would be in line with how existing virtual public hearings are conducted for other city meetings.
