Title

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN ADAMS COUNTY AND COMMERCE CITY REGARDING COST-SHARING FOR BRIGHTON ROAD IMPROVEMENT PROJECT

Body

Summary and Background Information

Brighton Road between 104th Avenue and 112th Avenue has been annexed into the City and is the City’s maintenance responsibility. The surrounding properties are all within unincorporated Adams County. The road has not received any maintenance for many years. As a result, the subgrade and pavement have severely deteriorated. The City recently awarded a contract with Elite Surface Infrastructure, Inc. to reconstruct Brighton Road between 104th and 112th Avenue, which is the first phase of the project. The second phase is the design and replacement of the bridge over the Fulton Ditch. The bridge is currently under design and will be constructed in 2021.

The IGA is for the $2,000,000 contribution from Adams County to help fund the Brighton Road Project.     See CIty Council cover memo.
