RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON EAST 104TH AVENUE AT BRIGHTON ROAD AND PEORIA STREET TO W.L. CONTRACTORS, INC.

Summary and Background Information:
As a part of the City’s Capital Improvements and Preservation Program (CIPP), five traffic signals were identified for construction along East 104th Avenue. Three signals have been installed at Florence Street, Joliet Street, and Revere Street. This contract is for the construction of the last two signals at Peoria Street and Brighton Road.
The poles and mast arms for these two signals have been ordered, and the expected delivery date is September 25, 2020.
Three bids were received from W.L. Contractors, Inc., Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., and Morton Electric. W.L. Contractors was the low bid at $665,101. Construction will be begin once the contract has been executed. The contractor will have until December 30, 2020 to complete construction.
Project Bidding Process
A Request for Bids (RFB) was posted on the City’s website and the Rocky Mountain E-Purchasing System. Three valid bids were received on September 3, 2020. WL Contractors, Inc. was the low bidder for the project.
