Body

Summary and Background Information

This ordinance recognizes revenue from Adams County and RTD.  Resolutions to approve the IGA’s are on the agenda for 3/2 also.

The IGA with RTD provides funding to purchase and display public art at the NMRL station.  The art will consist of pieces installed in the station, as well as artwork wraps placed on power control cabinets, communications, and signal houses.  RTD and the City will split the cost of the public art, with RTD contributing a total of up to $44,000, and the City contributing a total of up to $22,000.  The Cultural Council will be responsible for soliciting applications and selecting the art to be displayed, with limited input from RTD.

The IGA with Adams County will provide $30,000 to the City through the state Census Outreach Grant Program, administered by the Adams County Complete Count Committee.  These funds are to be used in the development of Community Hubs.  The Community Hub is a space for residents to complete their Census onsite, and are to be located in gathering places for residents in targeted hard-to-count places.  The funds received from the County for community outreach is essential to obtaining an accurate count.
