RESOLUTION APPROVING INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT FOR THE PROVISION OF MUNICIPAL COURT VIDEO SERVICES

Summary and Background Information:
The City is currently under an IGA with Adams County for video court services for the municipal court. This service obviates the need to transport prisoners from the Adams County Jail to the Commerce City Municipal Court, instead allowing the proceedings to be held via teleconference. Video proceedings decrease potential security risks, as well as transportation costs and logistics.
Video proceedings currently play an important role in the effective operation of our municipal court. This IGA extends the term of the current arrangement through December 31st, 2020. The cost of $15,000 is proportionally based on usage of the service.
