RESOLUTION APPOINTING KRISTIN N. BROWN AS THE LIQUOR AUTHORITY AND MARIJUANA LICENSING AUTHORITY FOR THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY

Summary and Background Information:
Chapter 8 of the Commerce City Revised Municipal Code provides for the appointment of a hearing officer to serve as the local licensing authority for marijuana and liquor licensing matters. Our current hearing officer has tendered her resignation effective December 31, 2019. The city sent out a request for quotes (RFQ) and received four responses ranging from $75/hour to $205/hour. Staff recommends the appointment of Kristen Nordeck Brown ($150/hour) to both posts. Ms. Brown currently serves as the city’s general administrative hearing officer and as municipal judge and liquor authority for the City of Brighton.
