Title

AN ORDINANCE REPEALING AND REENACTING SECTIONS 5-4602, 5-4603, 5-4604, AND 5-4605 OF THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT THE 2018 INTERNATIONAL PLUMBING CODE, INCLUDING APPENDIX CHAPTERS B, C, D, AND E, WITH AMENDMENTS

 

Body

The Community Development Department is proposing adoption of the 2018 family of International Codes including:  The International Building Code (IBC), International Residential Code (IRC), International Fire Code (IFC), International Existing Building Code (IEBC), International Energy Conservation Code (IEEC), International Plumbing Code (IPC), International Fuel Gas Code (IFGC), International Mechanical Code (IMC), International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) and International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC).

Financial Impact:  Not more than $5,000 for purchase of code books, training materials and resources

Funding Source:  Existing Building Safety Division budget

 

Staff Recommendation:  Staff recommends passage of all ten building code ordinances and the two related ordinance codifying violations and penalties and electrical administrative provisions on 1st reading and proceeding to second reading and Public Hearing on November 4th.

 

Suggested Motion:  I move to approve Ordinance: 2216 (2018 International Building Code), 2217 (International Residential Code), 2218 (2018 International Existing Building Code),  2219 (2018 International Fire Code), 2220 (International Energy Conservation Code), 2221 (2018 International Fuel Gas Code), 2222 (2018 International Mechanical Code), 2223 (2018 International Plumbing Code), 2224 (2018 International Property Maintenance Code),  2238 (2018 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code), 2242 (An ordinance repealing and reenacting section 5-4502 and repealing sections 5-4503 and 5-4504 of the commerce city revised municipal code to re-adopt the 2006 edition of the international code council electrical code administrative provisions with amendments to be consistent with all international codes) and 2243 (An ordinance enacting article v of chapter 5 of the commerce city revised municipal code to provide for the creation of a master code enforcement article applicable to all international construction codes
