Title
Proclamation Declaring May 19-25, 2019 as Public Works Week
Body
Summary and Background Information: Commerce City is joining communities nationwide to recognize National Public Works Week from May 19 to May 25. National Public Works Week celebrates the vital role public works plays in connecting us all together to maintain and improve the structures and services that assure a higher quality of life for our communities. The streets, roads, bridges, and public transportation keep us linked together from coast to coast, and through clean water and sanitation services keep us healthy and allow our communities to grow and prosper. The Public Works Department is an integral part of how Commerce City functions. The proclamation recognizes the work of the Public Works Department, including a community open house on June 20, 2019.
Residents and council members are invited to attend an open house at the Municipal Service Center on June 20, 2019 any time from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The open house will provide guests with opportunities to tour the facility, paint snow plows, see how signs are made, hop into one of our plow trucks and learn more about how the Public Works Department serves Commerce City. Music, free food, games and contests are also planned.
