Open Space Restoration Program

Summary and Background Information:
The Parks Division will begin Open Space restorations in spring of 2019 beginning with the Second Creek Open Space located between Fronterra and Reunion Southlawn subdivisions. This will be a multi-year effort to restore the landscape back to its native state and provide an extension of the prairie from RMANWR for citizen use, wildlife habitat and to protect water quality through the floodplain.

Staff Recommendation: Move forward with planned project in accordance with City Open Space Maintenance Plan, City Wildlife Management Plan, RMANWR Habitat Management Plan, and partnered efforts with Adams County Open Space, Colorado State University and Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge
