RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING TEMPORARY OIL AND GAS FOCUS GROUP

Summary and Background Information: City Council desires to establish a temporary resident focus group to engage its citizens on various issues related to oil and gas development.
Proposed focus group:
1) Establishes a temporary focus group consisting of 9 resident participants appointed through Council’s standard appointment process.
2) There are no limitations for appointment, but the Council is guided to seek broad representation of interests, diversity, and geography.
3) Council and employees, and immediate family, and other elected officials are not eligible.
4) The focus group meets for no fewer than 3 meetings over the course of 3 months following the appointment of participants. City staff will lead meetings.
5) The focus group may provide non-binding feedback to staff on: proposed state legislation and rulemaking; potential city legislation; and new Form 2A applications.
No funding is established for this focus group.

2) Move to amend the resolution.
3) Move to postpone the resolution to a certain date or indefinitely.
