AN ORDINANCE CREATING SECTION 12-2011 OF THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING ENTRANCE UPON CLOSED PUBLIC GROUNDS AND REPEALING ORDINANCE 2160.

Summary and Background Information:
Ordinance 2160 adopted in May 2018 was defective in that it failed to include the text of the Section 12-2011. Therefore, it failed to provide adequate public notice of the proposed legislation and is being repealed. Ordinance 2181 includes the appropriate language and will prohibit entrance to public grounds posted as closed in order to manage and maintain the natural aspects of such grounds and protect persons from safety hazards. For example, this ordinance would apply to areas that are under construction or areas subject to flooding or damage. A copy of the April 16, 2018, presentation has been attached for reference.
