RESOLUTION APPROVING THE USE OF OFF-HIGHWAY VEHICLES BY THE COMMERCE CITY POLICE DEPARTMENT

Summary and Background Information: The police department is currently challenged with providing a police presence in certain areas of the city. These areas include parks, sidewalks, open spaces, neighborhoods, alleyways, and commercial, industrial and retail areas. The police department is seeking authorization to operate utility terrain vehicles on public roadways, throughout the city, allowing us to access these areas. Authorizing the use of these vehicles will increase and enhance our policing presence and capability in these difficult access areas.
