Adams County Water Quality Association
The Adams County Water Quality Association (ACWQA) group reviews Clean Water Plan applications, making approvals and recommendations to the State of Colorado. The association is comprised of elected and staff representatives from the South Adams County Water & Sanitation District, City of Brighton, Adams County and Commerce City. In other jurisdictions, the elected official is the member, with staff serving as the alternate.
The meetings are scheduled quarterly, at 3 p.m. the second Thursday of the month. The meetings are only held when there are clean water projects to consider - which hasn’t happened regularly. The association expects to have several meetings in 2018 as Metro Wastewater ramps up their Sand Creek and Second Creek Interceptor Projects. The next meeting is scheduled for 3 p.m., Thursday, April 12 at the South Adams County Water & Sanitation District office.
Staff recommends an appointed member of the Water Commission to serve as the city’s member and alternate, providing consistency among those groups. Community Development staff is prepared to provide meeting support and serve as the alternate if desired.
