Title

Recognize newly appointed Sergeants in the Police Department

Body

Summary and Background InformationIn August of 2017, the Commerce City Police Department posted an internal announcement for Police Sergeant. The process was very competitive and involved a written examination that involved a four-book reading list, questions over police and city policies and participation in an assessment center. The assessment center used out-of-county assessors to evaluate answers to structured interview questions. The assessors looked for competency in oral communication, planning and organizing, tactical knowledge, problem analysis and judgment as it related to community Issues, police operations and supervisory and leadership knowledge.  The testing process was challenging and resulted in the selection of the top (4) candidates for promotion to the rank of sergeant. The Department is proud of the hard work demonstrated by these officers during the testing process and looks forward to the future contributions these new sergeants will make to improve the quality of life and safety for Commerce City residents.  They are Tom Boskovich, Jeremy Jenkins, Brian Trujillo and Travis Fender.
