Summary and Background InformationThe Police Department is seeking Council approval of an IGA to create a combined Sexual Assault Task Force (SATF) with the Brighton Police Department.  In January of 2017, the City of Commerce City applied for a grant to form the combined SATF.  We were awarded a $699,721 grant that Council accepted on November 6, 2017.  This IGA will allow the SATF to be formed.  The SATF will implement best practices in the area of sexual assault investigation and sex offender management.  Information regarding the SATF was presented at the Council Study Session November 13, 2017.
