Title

Resolution Supporting Reauthorization by the General Assembly of the Colorado Lottery Division in 2018

Body

Summary and Background Information:  Legislation will be introduced in the 2018 session to reauthorize the Division of Lottery in the Department of Revenue, which is scheduled to sunset in 2024. Per the Colorado Constitution, the lottery funds parks, recreation, and open space projects all over Colorado through the Great Outdoors Colorado program. Many municipalities, counties, and special districts receive conservation trust fund dollars as well as grants through Great Outdoors Colorado. Commerce City has received more than $7.7 million in funding through this program and city staff recommends supporting legislation to reauthorize the division through 2039.
