Summary and Background Information

The applicant requests to continue operating a non-ferrous metal baler on site at 6495 Brighton Blvd, under CU-81-08-10-12-17. The metal baler will be used to package aluminum, copper, etc. collected by Rocky Mountain Recycling, for shipment and recycling. The bales will then be stored on site until they can be shipped out by truck in conjunction with the site in CU-82-08-10-12-17. The applicant also wishes to continue operating a recycling operation/scrap yard on site at 6541 Brighton Blvd under CU-82-08-10-12-17. No changes to the existing operations or new structures are proposed as part of either conditional use permit renewal.

Planning Commission Recommendation

On June 6, 2017, the Planning Commission held a public hearing, took testimony, and voted (5 to 0) to forward both Conditional Use Permit renewal requests to City Council with a recommendation for approval, subject to conditions.
