Body

Summary and Background Information

Construction of the Highway 2 Project between 72nd and 112th avenues began last fall and is expected to be completed next spring. The Martinez family, owners of El Jardin Restaurant, approached the City in mid-April to discuss desired changes to public rights of way adjacent to his property. City Manager McBroom and Director of Public Works D’Andrea met with Ben and Paul Martinez on May 2nd to discuss their desire to replace the proposed park with a public parking lot as well as proposed alternatives to expand parking while retaining park space. The presentation provides general information about the project and identifies three options for city council consideration as well as some analysis of each option, along with estimated costs.
