Title
2017 Pavement Maintenance Program Overview
Body
Summary and Background Information:
The city is responsible for 264.3 centerline miles of streets. Commerce City’s Street Rehabilitation and Pavement Maintenance Program places a priority on maintaining the streets that are in good condition. As street maintenance is deferred, more expensive repair strategies become necessary. Therefore, it is much more cost effective to maintain streets which are in good condition to keep them at that level.
The goal of the city’s Street Rehabilitation and Pavement Maintenance Program is to continuously maintain the city’s street network in a safe and fiscally responsible manner. To accomplish this, the Public Works Department programs and implements cost-effective maintenance and repair strategies in a manner that will maximize the service life of a given street. Staff will present the planned improvements for 2017.
