RESOLUTION APPROVING GREATER OUTDOORS COLORADO IMPLEMENTATION GRANT AGREEMENT

Summary and Background Information:  Commerce City applied, as part of a coalition of government and non-profit entities as the Northeast Metro Coalition ("NE Metro Coalition"), for an implementation grant through the Inspire Initiative of the state GOCO trust fund for Programs, Places and Pathways Projects designed to improve youth and family connections with the outdoors in underserved communities near the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge. Attached is the grant agreement, please note that Exhibit B - detail budget is still being developed; and Exhibit C - Cooperative Agreement with all NE Metro Coalition partners is in progress.

 

The GoWild NE Metro Coalition has been approved for a grant in the amount not to exceed $2.7 million.  The City of Commerce City will administer up to $1,845,918 of the grant for the duration of the Project from January 1, 2017 through June 30, 2020. The City of Commerce City is committed to the contribution amount not to exceed $15,000 over the next three years (2017, 2018, 2019) of the Project.  GOCO has separate grant agreements with Denver and Aurora. The City of Denver will administer up to $644,082 of the $2.7 million. the City of Aurora will administer up to $210,000 of the $2.7 million.

 

Additional cash and in-kind will come from the NE Metro Coalition members as outlined in the Cooperative Agreement both Government (Federal, State, Local) and Non-Profit partners (listed alphabetically):
