Recreation Center Renovation Design Introduction
Body
Summary and Background Information:
Improving the existing Commerce City Recreation Center is the final of the first five projects promised within the 2K Bond Program. City Council approved award of the design contract to Essenza Architecture for the recreation renter renovations on February 6, 2017.
The purpose of this session is to introduce the design team and gain input from City Council on key goals and priorities for renovation of the recreation center. The architect will present initial conceptual ideas for the repurposing of existing space and additions to the recreation center based on feedback already provided by City Council and the community. The architect will also solicit feedback on the desired look and feel of the renovation. The project schedule and public input plan will be reviewed. To complete the recreation center by Dec. 31, 2018, City Council will need to finalize the conceptual design for renovations at the March 27, 2017, study session.
