Title
Mobile Food Vendor Discussion (follow up)
Body
Summary and Background Information:
This presentation follows Community Development’s June 27th presentation regarding Outdoor Vendor regulations pertaining to mobile food trucks/carts. At the June 27th Study Session Council gave direction to staff to look at easing mobile food truck/cart regulations to ensure businesses are not unduly burdened and are able to operate proficiently within the city.
The Commerce City Municipal Code (Chapter 9 - Outdoor Vendors, Section 9-3300) contains regulations regarding outdoor vendors including mobile food trucks/carts. This section authorizes mobile food trucks/carts to operate in the city but with specific restrictions as to their location on private property, where they can stop and similar rules. This discussion is intended to provide follow up information to Council regarding staff’s recommended changes.
