RESOLUTION APPROVING INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT REGARDING HIGHWAY 2 IMPROVEMENTS WITH SOUTH ADAMS COUNTY WATER AND SANITATION DISTRICT

Body

Summary and Background Information

The City and the South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (SACWSD), in the interest of efficiency, desire to include certain water main improvements in the Highway 2 Widening Project.  An intergovernmental agreement has been developed to facilitate the completion of these improvements and to establish terms for the financing of the improvements.

Approximately 7,200 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main will be installed through an open cut in the pavement.  Approximately 285 lineal feet of 8-inch diameter water main will be installed through horizontal directional drilling. Twelve (12) fire hydrants will be installed.  The estimated total cost for these improvements $1,152,926.51, which includes a contingency amount.

Per the agreement, SACWSD will pay the City 90% of the cost of the improvements within thirty (30) days of the agreement and the remainder at project completion. The SACWSD Board has already approved this agreement.
