Summary and Background Information

The City of Commerce City is requesting approval for the annexation of roughly 108 acres that is a portion of the future location of the 2nd Creek Park site. The northern portion of the future 2nd Creek Park site is requesting to be annexed concurrently in case AN-238-16. The subject property of case AN-237-16 is generally located north of E. 112th Avenue, west of the O’Brian Canal, south of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, and east of Highway 2. All of the property is currently zoned with an Adams County Agricultural - 3 zoning designation and is requested to be rezoned to Commerce City Public via zoning case Z-934-16, which is being processed concurrently.

 

The submittal of this application is intended to bring city owned property into the city’s jurisdictional boundaries for the future development of a park.
