Summary and Background Information

This item will award a construction contract to Flatiron Constructors, Inc. for the widening of Highway 2 from two lanes to four lanes between E. 72nd Avenue and 112th Avenue. Also included in this work is installation of LED street lighting, a multi-use path/trail from Quebec Street to 112th Avenue, on-street bike lanes south of Quebec Parkway, improvements to Derby Park, and a rest area adjacent to the wildlife refuge. Improved drainage and water quality facilities, in the form of rain gardens, adjacent to the roadway, will also be constructed.

 

In conjunction with the project, the South Adams Water and Sanitation District has requested to fund two water main installations along the corridor, which will be reimbursed within the next year.
