Title

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-3005 OF THE COMMERCE CITY REVISED MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE ADDITIONAL TERMS FOR THE YOUTH COMMISSION

Body

Summary and Background Information

Currently, the youth commission members are set to have two terms of two years each with a maximum of four years which a youth member can serve. This means, if you began at age 13, you would not be able to serve through high school. Two of the inaugural members are running into this issue in the next year. The update to the ordinance allows for three terms of two years each, a maximum of six years.

At their March 15 meeting, the youth commission voted and approved to make this recommendation to city council to update the ordinance to three terms.
