Summary and Background Information: The 20 year anniversary of golf in Commerce City is celebrated this year. Since opening in 1996, Buffalo Run Golf Course has provided recreation opportunities for community members of all ages. Programs that cater to youth and beginner golfers have flourished, and the golf course currently hosts the Adams City High School and Prairie View High School golf teams (both boys and girls teams). The facility has also become a meeting place for a variety of organizations and groups within the city, using the Bison Grill as a center for gatherings. Residents find the restaurant a convenient and welcoming location to socialize with friends and family. Buffalo Run Golf Course has also played an important role in the growth of Commerce City, both retail and residential, and the positive impact that comes with economic development. The success of the golf course can be attributed largely to the vision and ongoing support of the residents of Commerce City.
