Body
Summary and Background Information: After significant discussions, City Council determined to move forward with licensing both retail and medical marijuana businesses within the City of Commerce City. Because City Council understands that businesses involving the distribution, cultivation, and production of marijuana can have a negative impact on the health, safety, and welfare of a community as well as its resources, it directed staff to draft regulations to prescribe the manner in which marijuana businesses are licensed and how such businesses may be conducted in to ensure that the health, safety and welfare of the community are adequately protected. The draft regulations were discussed with City Council during the February 23, 2015 study session.
