Body
Summary and Background Information:
Over the past few years, Commerce City, via the Northern Infrastructure General Improvement District has constructed the First Creek drainage channel from Interstate 76 east a distance of approximately 3,800 feet including box culverts under Havana Street and Joliet Street.
The project currently under construction includes a large in-line detention pond, a new culvert under the Union Pacific Railroad and 248 feet of a 14-foot by 6-foot concrete box culvert under the new 104th Avenue roadway.
The Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UDFCD) has been working with staff to design and construct improvements to First Creek in the vicinity of 104th Avenue.  The UDFCD will reimburse the City for one half of these improvements up to $250,000.
