Title
Arbor Day proclamation and Tree City USA recognition
Body
Summary and Background Information:
Commerce City has been recognized as a "Tree City USA" by the National Arbor Day Foundation for the 24th consecutive year. This is a testament to the city's promotion and interest in planting of trees in residential areas, as well as city-owned parks, trails and open space.
To celebrate and promote Arbor Day this year, parks and recreation department staff will be handing out seedlings and tree care information to the community. The Urban Community Forester, Keith Wood, will attend the City Council meeting on April 20 to present the Tree City USA Award to the Mayor and City Council.
