Summary and Background Information: The Air Force Reserve was created as a separate component April 14, 1948, when the Army Air Corps Reserve transferred to the Air Force. The Air Force Reserve is a combat-ready force, composed of more than 67,000 Citizen Airmen, stationed locally at over 60 locations throughout the United States and serving globally for every Combatant Command in air, space and cyberspace. For the past 67 years reservists, many who are residents of your city, have joined forces to support and defend our country. The men and women of the Air Reserve Personnel Center respectfully request that April 14, 2015 be proclaimed the day of the Air Force Reserve in honor and some cases remembrance of those who have served.
