Title
RESOLUTION REGARDING THE ADOPTION OF THE COMMERCE CITY YOUTH MASTER PLAN

Body
Summary and Background Information:
When the Commerce City youth commission was established in 2012, one of the key expectations was for the group to create a youth master plan to help provide a strategic roadmap for how the city could best support successful youth outcomes. Through existing data, studies done in Adams County, and brainstorming, the youth commission identified five areas of focus for youth in the city, including: education, health and safety, community and neighborhoods, early childhood development, and youth development.  A draft of the youth master plan was presented to city council Dec. 8, 2014, to provide background information on the planning process and obtain council input prior to finalizing the document. Staff also sent information to nonprofit organizations for additional input. The resolution adopts the youth master plan as a policy document for the city to consider in future actions and activities.
